Hygroscopic crystal elements deteriorate when they are not generally saved in adequately dry air (or possibly a dry purge gasoline). This is applicable e.g. to KDP and BBO, and in a lesser extent to LBO. It can be handy to keep this type of crystal at a considerably elevated temperature, which makes it simpler to maintain it dry.Furthermore, it has
